After I gave up all of my favorite carbs, like pizza, mashed potatoes, pasta, I tried finding something to replace my most beloved heavy carb; Cream. Cheese, Bagels. Ugh, I could've ate that for the rest of my life. But, I actually did find something that gives me the same satisfaction; avocado on toast! I never really liked avocado other than in guac (I make a mean guacamole, by the way. Maybe I'll post my recipe), but here's what I do to make it taste good: And of course I spread it on whole wheat toast.
There you have it! Something that has healthy fats and will make you feel artsy. It's so easy, good for breakfast or dinner, and WAY more colorful than a cream cheese bagel! P.S. I topped it with some salsa, that makes it taste better.

Three different schools and two boroughs...that only brings us closer. So my closest group of friends from middle school, who I haven't seen in 5ever, and we decided to throw a little reunion party. With the new year, all of our resolutions were to be healthy & fit (most of us just got Fitbit's) so that was the perfect theme of our get together. All week we were so excited; texting and post things on snapchat, then having people text us and say "What's the Booty Toes? Is that, like, a band?" (LOL, it's an inside joke). So that night, we ate so much healthy food that we probably ate back the calories we would've if we stuck with pizza, lol. We had the greatest time just talking whilst listening to Dee's AMAZING Spotify playlist (Grabdistoughtitty). Two of our friends also did body paintings that they saw on Tumblr, which were SO impressive. Friday night made me realize just how much I missed them all. When I decided to go to a school that NONE of my friends were going too, AND that was not even in my borough, I thought I would be completely disconnected from ALL of my friends (which is what I wanted from most people, but not them). But real friendships can't be broken up by what school you go to or all your different schedules, because real friends will make time for each other and won't let distance get between them. This Friday was honestly the most fun I've had in a while (and relieved some stress from school, haha) and I can't wait for more adventures with my girls (or should I say Toe's?). LOVE MY TOES<3
I've been a fan and have watched Grease for my whole life. (Even though 5 year old me said in my head, "Why does Sandy have to change for a man? This teaches a bad lesson!"). BUT, from the second I heard this was happening, I thought it was a bad idea. Mostly, because NOBODY. WILL EVER. LIVE UP TO. OLIVIA. NEWTON. JOHN. The first thing that got me mad was everything about Sandy's role. 1. That whole ridiculous cheer thing was not in the movie. WE GET IT. JULIANNE HOUGH CAN DANCE. 2. WHERE IS THE AUSTRALIAN ACCENT??? It's just simply not right to make Sandy from freaken Utah. Vanessa Hudgens was just great. It's also extremely impressive that she did such and amazing job, considering her dad died the night before. 'There Are Worst Things I Could Do' was so heartfelt. She's just fantastic. Keke Palmer's number was my favorite. I never realized what an amazing singer she was. (No, I never got to see 'Joyful Noise'). I thought Carly Rae Jepsen's acting was some of the best in the whole show. Except for that dreadful song she sang in the diner. (I quickly got a text from my friend Sophia: Why does this song sound like Carly Rae Jepsen wrote it? ). The boys were good too, especially Jordan Fisher, who had a voice like a legit angel. (Side note: I thought it was a wasted opportunity to not make Nash Grier play Danny. Even though he most likely can't sing and seems like kind of a jerk, I always thought something about him looked a lot like John Travolta). The cameos were pretty funny too. Joe Jonas was surprisingly great and Mario Lopez is just a funny guy. AND, UM, BOYZ 2 MEN. So in the end, Grease live was not terrible, and I actually think it's one of the better one's, out of all the live theater events that have been on TV these past few years. (NOTE: I did not get to see 'The Wiz' live, but I heard it was fantastic). But in the end, I still tuned into The Kardashians and Hollywood Medium instead. (NOTE: If you don't watch that show you're missing out. Tyler Henry is freaken adorable). So what did you think? Was it a mess or was it magnificent? |
