First Day of High School at Laguardia

      This week I took a big step in the little life of Caroline. Last year, I auditioned to go to Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (I know it’s a long name lol) in Manhattan, and I got into the vocal program. I was so excited that I first didn’t believe it. So that was the school I chose to go to, and right now I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I was stunned the first day of school at how cool it was. First of all, the bells are big band music ( I’m not kidding!!!). Every period ends with a different song and I literally have to restrain myself from dancing ( I’ll get used to it, it’s just the first week). Another cool thing about the school, is that there really isn’t much of a dress code. I think it goes along with their unspoken motto (at least what I got from the school) to be who you are. That leads me to the next thing I love about my school: Everyone is so different from each other. We all have different styles and talents. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and boroughs. One thing we all have in common though, is our commitment to all of our talents.I was trying to think of the reason that everyone here seems so happy, and I think one of the main reasons, is that everyone chose to come here and pursue their passion.
High school is very different from middle school, but right now I’m having a great time, and I think the two hour commute is definitely worth it.
